On Monday, I took my daughter on a wild goose chase to get some cute green and white pumpkins and they were nowhere to be found! Not anywhere! There were loads of orange pumpkins but no white or green ones. So I had to stick with some faux pumpkins for my fall dining room decor. But I did find a neat plant (some sort of cabbage plant? I have no idea what it is) at the grocery store to add some green to my fall dining room.
I stuck with pretty minimal (for me) fall decor. I made some other changes in the room that seemed to make the room feel new and different so I didn’t feel I needed a lot of new decor in the dining room. Mainly, I switched the large mirror that I had hanging above my buffet and moved it above the fireplace. In its place, I hung my large DIY chalkboard.
Those two simple changes made the whole room feel different!
Here is the new look above the fireplace. I am not going to lie, I found it hard to photograph the mirror because of the reflection. I had to be careful not to get the view of the messy kitchen;).
My dining table end chairs are currently mismatched. I am not yet sure what I am going to do about it. I am not feeling strongly one way or another so I am just going to live like this for now until a brilliant solution comes to me.
I put these shelves up a few years ago and I still love them! They are the perfect place for little touches of fall.
Here is the cabbage type plant I picked up at the grocery store. I am really liking the addition of green in my fall decor!
Isn’t it cool? I really like it! I am going to just enjoy it before I end up killing it (by accident, of course!).
That is my fall dining room! It is pretty simple and minimal for me but I am feeling that is exactly what I need in my life right now considering we are in full swing of first grade and flag football season!
