Master bedroom update

master bedroom update

Our master bedroom is one of two rooms that I had not repainted since I first painted it when we moved into our house.  When we moved in, I painted our master bedroom Smoked Turquoise by Behr.  I really liked that color and still do.  But the room I needed to change things up.  I don’t know about you, but I get pretty bored with a room after a few years.  I did do some updates a few years ago with a DIY headboard but I knew I needed more of an overhaul this time.  “Army green” is a trending color right now and I have been wanting to add some in my house.  The master bedroom seemed like the perfect place.  Cypress Vine by Behr was the color I chose that was close to the “army green” I was looking for.  It was the jumping off point for our master bedroom update.

Fall Dining Room

Fall Dining Room

Valentine's decor

I am not super crazy about Valentine’s day.  I don’t expect anything from the hubs (he thinks it is a made up holiday by greeting card companies) but I love the chance to add a little pink to my decor for a few weeks.  My daughter was born on February 1st and I had a Valentine’s banner up in my hospital room (doesn’t everyone decorate their hospital room when they have a baby?) and I always like to have that up by February 1st to remind me of when she was born.  I don’t go too overboard on Valentine’s decor, I just add a few touches to the dining room and sitting area and that is about it.  Just enough to be festive, not enough to be crazy;)

DIY Natural Antlers

DIY Natural Antlers

I am obsessed with decorating with antlers, like a lot of other people these days.  In my house, I have real antlers over my bed, on my mantle and on various shelves.  I have fake ones scattered throughout the house as well.  I have been seeing some other versions of antlers on Pinterest and blogs.  In particular, I have seen some “natural antlers” by a company called Eco Deer.  I LOVE the look and and all the options so I thought I could try my hand at some DIY natural antlers.
