Oh you guys, we have been dealing with dishwasher woes since before Halloween. We bought our dishwasher in March 2016 so it was just over a year and a half old when the problems began. It started having a drain issue and could not complete a cycle. The drain pump and circuit board were replaced with no luck. And the hoses, traps and filters were tested, inspected and found to be free of clogs. Our sink was snaked and pipes cleaned and no problems there either. I somehow had the mind to buy a 5 year warranty when I bought the thing (probably because they told me I would get my money back if I didn’t use it). So we will be getting a new dishwasher installed 2 days before Christmas. And we still have not gotten our countertops and sink replaced and our backsplash installed. I have no clue when that will happen:( But that does not mean there could not be some Christmas in the kitchen!
I was going to do a whole first level Christmas tour. But I took way too many pictures so I decided to break it up and do two posts, Christmas entry and dining room and Christmas kitchen. I am going to start with the Christmas entry and dining room. Get comfortable because there are lots of photos coming your way!
I had big plans to flock my tree this year. It didn’t happen. Once I got it up, I could not possibly wait to flock it before I put the lights up. And I think I will actually get a new tree this year after the Christmas holiday. There are so many really cool artificial trees available. After having our current tree for 11 years, I think it is time for a new tree! So this will probably be the last year you will see this particular tree in our living room. I have a few updates in our living room to share as well. So let me show you our Christmas living room.
The kid’s bedrooms were the first place I started decorating for Christmas this year. I don’t know about you but usually the bedrooms are the last place I decorate. They were more of an afterthought than purposeful. Last year, they both had a small tinsel tree with twinkle lights. This year, I decided to add some faux garlands (sounds better than fake, right?) more twinkle lights. And red! Because red equals Christmas, right? So all the bedrooms got a bit of red infused in them but I am going to share our Christmas kids’ rooms today.
Hey! I took a little blogging break as we were busy having a super fun fall! It has been jam packed with activity but we had so.much.fun. I have the week off and I have been working on getting the house Christmas ready. We will be doing an advent calendar again this year and I wanted to show you where I put it and how I put it up. I am also going to link to the free printable that I created last year (which I used again this year). Without further ado, here is my 2017 advent calendar + printable.
