Pinterest has a ton of barn door designs. I usually have a good idea and a clear vision of the details when I start a project. However, I did not have a clear vision for the design of the barn door for the basement bonus room. I really had no idea what design I wanted, so I did a lot of Pinterest and Instagram searching. It was not until I came across this image on IG from The Handmade Home that I knew what I wanted.
I am back with the *almost* finished basement bonus room today. I say almost because there are still a few finishing touches that need to be done but I will explain our plans later in this post. Let’s first revisit the before of this space.
Ok, I will be the first to admit, I can be a little crazy. Like that time I started freaking out that my kids did not have a “fun kid space” and I started concocting ideas to add a room above our garage which would have involved raising the garage roof and completely changing the outline and look of our house, maybe not in a good way. Thankfully, I have some pretty smart parents that stated the obvious, “Why don’t you just put some walls up in your basement and make a room down there? Your basement is huge.” And the idea of the basement bonus room was born.
